Deams Can Come True For Mr. Gay Hungary

This year's pretty boy Ádám Ladányi (25) a.k.a. Deam took the tiara this year in front of a packed house at Budapest's glamorous Moulin Rouge, to a rapturous reception, reports Index.hu, who also took the snap above. The winner of the third annual beauty contest for gay men automatically qualifies for the "Mr. Gay Europe", which will also be held in Budapest from August 1 to 5 as the current holder of the title is last year's Mr. Gay Hungary, Nándor Gyöngyösi.

The format of the event, which featured such leading lights as Bea Gáspár (wife of Győzike), Györgyi Keleti and Desiré Dubounet of the Club Bohemian Alibi on the jury, was the same as for any female beauty contest. The boys first dressed up in everyday wear, followed by PVC and leather "fetish clothing," then underwear, and finally swimwear. Deam, who received 40% of jury and audience votes, was the unanimous victor on the basis that he had the "best body," despite a tush that was a deemed a little on the flat side.

He said he was most happy with the Ft 100,000 cash he had won, because he was going to donate it to a children's foundation. He also won a trip abroad, a foreign language course, a modeling contract, a wellness weekend and one year's worth of beauty treatments. A man of few words, he told Index.hu that the few friends he has mean the world to him. "I have them to thank for everything, because they had fought so hard for me to be accepted." His mother attended the contest and is said to be "very proud of her son." We will be too when he proves once again that it's not just Hungarian women that are the hottest in Europe this August.
